More than a year ago I noticed many young men holding their crotch as they walked or ran down the street.
I thought those guys must really have to go, and it doesn't look like they're going to make it.
It seemed like this new generation must all have kidney, or bladder problems.
But before long I realized that these guys were just trying to hold up their baggy pants.
How can they call it a "style" when they merely wear the wrong size clothes, or put their hat on backwards?
Have they lost all imagination?

Gypsy Muse---I'm a very old man and I have seen all those other styles, and I don,t see much wrong w/ any of them.
However, I can't even see baggy clothes as a "style"---seems more like a complete lack of style.

Nicholias--I was checking out styles when you were playing in your poo-poo.
You HAVE stopped doing that, haven't you?

I share the dislike for that particular trend in men style but I think the current trend in men style are not limited to that alone. On the other spectrum, you have the hipsters with their super tight pants. And somewhere in the middle you still have that prepster classic. I personally, as a 21 years old guy, like this whole old style prepster with my grandpa sweater and elbow patches...hehe... So don't worry, not every man walking down the street is grabbing their crotch. :)

I'm sure your parents probably thought the same of your bell bottoms? Teen/young adult styles have always been considered odd by the older generation. Just the same as the weird music and the crazy hair. Imagination? Well of course not! Have you seen the teeth grillz? Totally ugly and pointless but hey that took some imagination!
Besides as people get older they tend to be sheep and wear what is expected of them. Let the kids enjoy exploring fashion. Why? Because it brings me much amusment when their pants fall down and they trip. If your still having doubts just go look up the clothes from your era. You'll be shaking your head and asking "what was I thinking"?

On another note, I totally think we need to bring back 1600/1700s dandy look. Stockings and frills oh my!

I see people getting praised for creating a new style for women
as well, but dont see anybody wearing in on the street. The whole idea is stupid and just a way to make money from the
gullible.

I don't think they are constantly touching their crotch or adjustign themselves because of baggy pants. I think it's because they have really bad manners. It is gross, I agree.
I don't like the look of baggy pants either, but when you pointed out is just bad manners. They probably think noone notices.

About the hats - backwards is no longer fashionable. Turning it like 1/4 way from where it suppoes to be is more fashionable which is equally stupid.
