if you can find some weather resistant cat 5 cable then yes. otherwise the sun will tear them up. they will dry rot, the insulation can get brittle, leak when it rains... running wires through th ewalls is not to hard. I'm an electrician, or was. there are some tricks that make it easier. get a diy book from you r local library. otherwise, wireless is the way to go. it will save you that hastle anyway, and ugly wires running outside of your walls

Yes there is Ethernet cable certified for outdoor use; but you will have to buy it from a distributor or electrical contractor. Have you looked at using a wireless link ?

I've seen this successfully done. Be sure the cables are not punctured or kinked. They are pretty fragile. When attaching them, don't crush them too badly or allow them to get tied in a knot or tightly folded. Try to put them tucked under the eaves or something where they'll be protected from the worst of the elements. They look better that way too ;)

No its not. Not good in the rain. Unless your run a tube and the cable inside of it but thats just gonna make it more work. Just go wireless and enjoy the easy thing about it.

Good Luck
