Actually, the word cousin has more than 6 or 7 meanings in Arabic. The reason behind this is that Arabic is more specific when it comes to relations. Also , Arabic is , unlike English, gender-specific. So the brother of my father is "Am" which is a different word from the word which is used to express the bother of my mom, "khal". The two words have one equivalent in English :uncle
Prepare yourself for them then , lol:
1- " Ibn Am" The son of the brother of my father. !!
2- "Bent Am"The daughter of the brother of my father!!
3- "Ibn Ama" The son of the sister of my father.
4- "Bent Ama" The daughter of the sister of my father.
5-"Ibn Khal" The son of the brother of my mother.
6- " Bent khal" The daughter of the brother of my father.
7- "Ibn Khala" The son of the sister of my mother.
8-" Bent Khala" The daughter of the sister of my mother.
All the previous 8 words are the translations of only one English
