Last match on Raw was April 3, 2002 and his last official match was a WrestleMania XIX on March 30, 2003 against the Rock where he was defeated after 3 Rock Bottoms. Though he's made appearances since then. I just hate he had to go out losing to the Rock...hell i hate he had to go out at all. Though he'll be back and always be around (actually rumors of early 2007), cause he's the "Rattlesnake" you can't keep that beer drinkin son of a ***** down

Austin was forced to retire from the ring in 2003 due to a variety of chronic injuries.

Well technically...Stone Cold is still working for the WWE. True, he might not be wrestling in the ring anymore...but he's returning early 2007 to work some shows to promote his movie. So in reality...he's like Hulk Hogan. They say he's retired...but you'd have to kill him to get his beer-drinkin' backside out of the ring.

What is a person's retirement date, exactly, anyway? The last day that they worked, or the first day that they did not?

I don't know the date but i miss him and Goldberg. For me wrestling just hasn't been the same. I rarely watch it anymore.
