Having no money, parties, or gifts during this holiday never disappoints me during Christmas. Just like you, I lost my dad too, he passed away this year. Missing your family / loved ones who are no longer here with us will never make Christmas the same.
Plus, Christmas nowadays has become too commercialized. It's lost it's meaning and has been replaced by materialism and whatnot (afterall, it's all about Santa and it's rarely about Jesus).

Honestly, depressing things should be the last thing on your mind right now. It's Christmas! Yes, bad things do happen in life, but as the Grinch said "Even if we're Horribly Mangled, there'll be no sad faces on Christmas". You don't want to go about life being sad and depressed, happiness is your main pursuit in life! And what makes it so simple is that, it's a choice! So choose wisely, and Happy Holidays.

I even have mixed emotions appropriate to the vacations. on the only hand, i watch for spending time with family participants and making chuffed thoughts collectively. on the different hand, it somewhat is an tremendously annoying time for me. I artwork in retail and that i'm a school pupil, that's a foul blend with loopy hours and finals arising. I even have constantly felt that Christmas has starting to be to be an increasing form of superficial; all approximately procuring the main/terrific presents whilst all it somewhat does is tension human beings out. shoppers could properly be very impolite additionally in the event that they arrive to a determination to take that tension out on you. all of it variety of makes me sense green with envy that i'm caught in the back of a sign in in any respect loopy hours waiting on people who could properly be advise and crabby. what's likewise no longer uncomplicated for me this 12 months is that my boyfriend and that i virtually broke up, our 2 12 months anniversary could have been the day after Christmas. I attempt to no longer permit it difficulty me nonetheless, do exactly no longer forget that i visit be too busy with family participants to even care.

That so many people don't have anyone to spend Christmas with. And I also find it depressing that Christmas has turned into such a materialistic holiday when it's supposed to be about Jesus being born

I agree with you. Not having the people you loved most in the world here to spend the holidays with you.

It sucks about your dad.
But I'm not going to purposefully think of the most saddest thing about the holiday season. I don't LIKE to be sad. Unlike some people. It's like: "Hmmm this is the happiest time of the year, but what's the worst thing I can think of so I can feel really shi**y."
Think of GOOD things, think of POSITIVE things. Don't swim in your own pool of self pity.
Sorry if that's cold. But it's the truth.
