It seems now to be popular, why are my children saying that there is a lot of gay and bi kids at there school and it seems that it is all good now at large? On the radio yesterday highschool students were calling up and qutoing how many gay or bi people go to there school. When I was in grammer school we did not even know what bi-sexual meant? I am not old either I am a generation x'er and this is ludicrous to me that sex is just everywhere, children cannot even be children anymore! What's up with that?

There are probably the same number of gay or bisexual people as there have always been, it's just that it is more accepted today so they can be open about it.
As far as "sex is just everywhere," that's kind of true, but I'm not sure how you mean it. Kids can know that they are gay before they're old enough to have sex. When a little girl plays house, normally she would have a mommy and a daddy doll. But a lesbian girl could play house with two mommies. It's exactly the same as a straight little girl playing house. It's not sexual at all. But it is from a lesbian point of view.

First of all gay or bisexual people are not the ones to blame that sex is everywhere. If that is what you mean. Anyways, their is more gay and bisexual people now in days because people are starting to understand them and respect them for who they are. Back in the days people where ashamed of them and even made it seem sinful. About the sex being everywhere it is because the meida make it seem okay, now in days you see cartoon characters kissing, and it is not just a small smack. Music videos they have it every where. It is the media which influences children not gay people, and it is also parents faults for buying there children movies, cds, etc.

Bi-sexual and gay lifestyles (for lack of a better word) have been around as long as man has walked the earth. I think it is just more socially acceptable now days and people feel more comfortable "coming out"...however, I think there tends to be more of an abundance of this proclamation that "I'm bi" amongst teenagers because it's "cool" to be bi or gay.

Umm, I personally don't care. I think it's fine to be gay, bi-sexual, lesbian or straight. I don't really understand why it's such a big deal. You see someone on the street holding hands with another man and you become to hate them? You dont even know them!

There isn't more- they just burnt down their closets-- and what's wrong with that? We are the land of the free- and that should mean we all should be free-- no matter what race, sex, or sexual preference- and as far as gay marriage goes, I'm all for it-- why should only the straight people suffer- let them join in the wedded bliss!

They have always been around...we just are more aware of them because society has allowed the environment for them to more openly come out. Personally, I'm fine with that. It's the relating of hearts, not the color, gender, etc. that's of focus. I was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area, still live in Calfornia...all are cool with me.

They were just hiding in the closets or behind closed doors. However since this county has decided to TRY to take God out of everything this country stands for. Our country is basically going to HELL in a hand basket. Judgment day is coming soon!

Because Hollywood and the media in general have made it more "acceptable" and "mainstream", so much that it's considered "chic" to be gay or bi. It's beyond reasonable and way over the top.

I'm not sure if there really are more. I just think that people are more comfortable opening up with who they truly are. I think that less people are hiding the fact that they are gay becasue people are more accepting these days.

i think its just more widely accepted now, thats why more people are out with it, before people just kept to themselves about it. i think a lot of the bi population of teens anyways are due to stupid girls wanting attention from guys though, ugh. gotta love it.
