No, I don't think so. I also don't think the sign gifts are possessed by modern people. Like tongues, for example. And healing and raising people from the dead. I knew one poor chump that believed that some guy in Mexico was healing terminal illnesses and raising people from the dead. The nature of that gift was to demonstrate the reality of God to unbelievers. If those modern "gifts" were real, wouldn't they be well-established by the scientific community? And when I tried to point that out to him, he kept asking me if I believed in miracles. Of course I do. I just don't think they depend on PEOPLE to do anything to make them happen.

Anyway, my $0.02.

Merry Christmas!

That is different from person to person. Some believe that miracles, signs and wonders is available to the ordinary everyday believer and others believe that such things are pre-messiah birth and that Jesus is the only miracle, sign and wonder we need. The Bible warns that in the last days counterfeit signs, miracles and wonders will increase.

I personally believe that people in ministry do not have more access to God than anyone else and that anyone who calls on the Lord will be heard. Psalm 120:1
