Are you at all worried that you will catch a disease from your partner? Why/why not?
I am talking about diseases such as hepititis which can be caught from someone you slept with years ago, and you might not even know you have it, until you pass it on to someone else.

Well - right off - I've never heard of a case of someone catching an STD without someone having been exposed to it first... In other words, two 'clean' people (tested as negative for STD's) who are not using IV drugs, cannot catch or spread and STD to their partner unless they have engaged in a dangerous behavior...

Anyway - I've always been tested at the beginning of a relationship, and in general so has my partner. With clean bills of health on both sides, there is no way for either of us to catch something unless someone cheats...

You are certainly correct that someone who has not been tested can be harboring Hepatitis or HIV/AIDS for years - which is why hitting a planned parenthood for the tests is a good idea. If you're worried that your partner might be spreading something... get tested, and suggest that they get tested as well.

Test, test, test.... then test sum more... its the only way to keep you and your partner(s) safe.

I am married and I know that I am 100% faithful in my marriage. No, I do not worry about that. To me, it falls into the "unknown" category. Although I can understand your concerns, why bother worrying about something that hopefully, may never happen? In addition, if it does, there are many known cures. Anything can happen to any one of us at any given time. Just take the proper precautions if you are really bothered by this, such as birth control, etc.

I'm not worried at all because my husband has always used a condom with his ex-girlfriends and I was a virgin when I met him. However, if you're worried you can ask for a diagnosis of all the diseases you fear you may have caught. You and your partner could do it together.

No worries. We are both very honest and open with each other. We have fully disclosed our previous activities with other partners. We are healthy and get regular check ups. There should be no surprises. As unlikely as it is, if something turns up, well, we will have to deal with it when and if it does.

Be honest!

Worrying does not solve anything. Translate it into action and get yourselves checked regularly. Let the health professionals worry about what to do.

No.
I had never been with anyone before my husband. He had been with one other person and he got checked out (medically) before we got married...so I don't worry about it.
