early hip hop movevent and military intelegence envolving i think maybe the wu-tang clan or someone with the love for combat bringing martial arts to the urban world. you cant realy kick that well with the tightest pair of paints, or even move your fastest for the best result. it is a restriction. something you do not want in a fight. plus pockets are larger for some few other reasons not to be mentioned here, for your sake and the rest of the worlds. and also the boxer thing those guys are STUPID. they just pull them down to their knees for the baggy effect but really it is just another restriction a barrier a limitation something which you do not want in combat

The look stems from convicted prisoners being issued improperly-sized pants. They continued wearing the over-sized, droopy pants after getting paroled, setting a trend for the "gang-look."
BTW, the baggy-pants look started with the L.A. gangs whose members needed a way to hide their weapons.

I don't know why the kids do this....but I know how to end it.
All we have to do is convince them that gay men think it's hot......they'll be back in the correct size pants within an hour.

Because, for some reason people feel the need to go along with the crowd. They think it makes them 'gangsta' and cool. It's just gross to me. I'd rather not see what's under your pants.
