I went to the ER on Tues b/c I was having unusual cramping & back pain. Started to bleed heavily. Doc didnt even examine me. I told him there was a possibility of pregnancy but he did nothing. He looked @ me and said "If you were pregnant, your not anymore. You've lost it by now." when i told him i would like test run, he told me "Our dept. closes at 9 and we dont get overtime" (it was 8:45). He just wrote me a script for Vicodin and sent me and told me to "sleep it off". I called my OB/GYN but they couldnt get me in until Friday. In between I was in so much pain I missed my finals for college & work. When I saw the OB, they were very thorough. I was diagnosed as having a severe infection that worked its way through my uterus and "clogging" my left fallopian tube so bad it would've burst in another 48 hours. I go back in 2 wks to see if it spread or if there's any permanent damage. I've written a formal complaint. What else should I do??? PLEASE HELP!!! I'm trying to get pregnant too.

I have had a problem with the er in my community 3 times. they almost killed me with a simple little diagnosis of strep throat. The dr in the er at 3am gave me 5 vicodin and told me to take them and i couldnt even swallow my own spit. he told me we would sit there until i swallowed all of them, so 55 minutes later he sent me home and told me to take tylenol and sucrets for my throat. I laid in bed for 8 days no food, water, couldnt swallow my own spit, and finally i just stood up outta bed to go pee and passed out cold onthe floor. my grandmother dragged me back to the same er 8 days almost 9 days later but luckily it was during the day and the dr was good during the day and he told me i had an abcessed tonsil so bad that if i would have tried to swallow anything i would have ruptured my tonsil and died because of all the poison in my throat. he told me if any of that poison would have made it into my blood stream i would have been dead. that happened twice with strep. then they almost made me sterile because i had a std and went to the same hospital and told me it was a severe yeast infection and it was actually a serious std so damn man gave to me. i also went to luckily, another er when i had my miscarriage and they took really good care of me. there isnt alot they can do but they need to make sure all the fetus is out of your uterus or gang green can set in and you will have to have a d&c (dilation & cutterage) just like an abortion, it is not pleasant. i would sue that hospital that put you through that because if you cannot have kids then they should be compensating you for that. They should have been more thourough and caring. i cannot believe they did that to you. i never pursued my cases against the hospitals but if i was you i would because that is your reproductive health they are messing with and they are acting like it is no big deal. it is a big deal if you are trying to start a family. i would talk to a lawyer at least, at the very, very, least. I would ask a lawyer what he thought and tell him everything all the details and who the dr was and so on and so forth. dont let them get away with what they did to you they will do it to someone else again if they can get away with it. Stick up for yourself and your children you are planning on having someday. that is something a hospital and no amount of money can replace, your reproductive health. email me back and let me know what you decide to do.

I wouldn't go to that hospital again. I went to the hospital where I live and I went there because I couldn't breathe and all they did was give me a breathing treatment which didn't help at all and when they came back in they said I could go and they didn't even recheck me. I left in the same condition as when I went in. I haven't went back since. I go to a different hospital now.

well all the er's in my area are open 24/7. maybe u went to an urgent care. and in that case everytime i've gone they havent been the fastest but they typically help. if u are upset with them i say write a letter. but research first so u have a rebuttle. good luck! and good luck trying to get pregnant!
