If you're a shy person and someone asks you a question but you revert to shy mode or talk quietly in response, why do they start smiling at you? Are they making fun of you but just not saying anything?
This has happened to me a lot lately, so I'm just wondering why people get this huge grin on their face once I start talking (and I'm too shy/self-conscious to ask them directly).

i have a lot of shy friends and try to bring them out of their shell. so i ask them a lot of questions and i don't know, when they answer me i guess i do have a tendency to smile at them. im just urging them on though and trying to make them feel more comfortable. i mean think about if i was just staring at them while they talked... awkward! but then again im a smiley type of person. try not to take it personal hun, they probably just want to make you more comfortable with them. smiles are contagious!

you won't be ready to be too shy. you got to have the skill to pass up and refer to a woman. despite the fact that it relies upon on the girl. some have a fetish for shy adult adult males X) others this is a turn off. in case you look shy, yet do no longer act the area 24/7, then you certainly've stumbled on a good stability.

No, I don't think they're making fun of you. The shy thing is actually cute to some people, that's probably why they smile. I wouldn't worry about it. Oh, and a good way to get over quiet talking is to find some place where no one can hear you, and scream as loud as you can. That worked for me.

i have the same problem as you do , i used to be upset and wondering till i found out why, it's for so many different reasons and here are some;
1- they like the way you are talking and the you are shy
2- you have cute face and they like to look at you when you get shy
3- some people are just idiots, they do it anyway weather you are shy or not
you shouldn't be that worry of being shy, it's not that bad as you see it. it's better of being rude, right?
when it happens again never mind to them, continue your talking, smile back and leave

no they are not making fun of you. They probably think that you are trying to tell them something but you are just to shy so they give you big smiles to support you or make you feel more comfortable so dont' worry about. Trust me i had that problem cuz im pretty shy.

They smile at you because they think you're being cute when you're shy. I am EXTREMELY shy.
