Let the kids open the presents on Christmas eve (maybe after supper). Otherwise, they will get up at 6 am Christmas Day and wake you up.

As kids, my brothers and I opened one gift each after Church.
Now, we all get together at our parents on Christmas Eve and open everything. On Christmas Day we go to our in-laws and my parents go visit their friends. It's been this way for about 13 years (I'm the youngest and it started when I was a teen). I still lived at home so I would just stay home and enjoy my gifts while my parents went out.
If you have children, I think they should get their gifts after waking up. If they happen to wake up that early in the AM, then so be it. But it would make Christmas Day not feel as special. Just my opnion. I felt that even as a teen. Everything was done the night before so Christmas didn't 'feel' like Christmas.
If it's just adults, well you're old enough to live with your decisions. And you can always go back to whatever you used to do next year.

There is no set time to open presents for Christmas. Many families stay up until midnight and open their presents at that time. Other families open them on Christmas Eve after dinner. And still others open their presents at some time on Christmas day. It all depends on how you feel about it, and how you have done it in the past.

nicely if I reported I opened my delivers at 11:fifty 9 PM is that Christmas Eve? And if I open a contemporary at 12:00 AM is that Christmas day. What if I opened a contemporary at 11:fifty 9:fifty 9:60 isn't that the comparable ingredient?? Christmas Eve and yule Day are the comparable day I open my delivers.

Although it is entirely up to you when you choose to open your gifts, why would you want to open them exactly at midnight? The whole day is left then with no hope, no expectation, no curiosity as to what may or may not be in said gift. The day is not entirely about the gifts anyway. Our tradition is to have breakfast first and open just one gift and be appreciative of it and thank the person who gave it to us. We do other stuff like prepare the main meal and then maybe open another gift. We do this and the day is about family and togetherness, not just gifts and selfish thoughts of what did we get. We found the day is more enjoyable and the magic lasts all day.

Yes its ok if your kids are in bed before "santa" comes so that you can put the presents out and then wake them up, but in a way that really gets Christmas over with before it begins.

If you want; personally I wait until Christmas morning, because once presents are opened, it's done. Might as well stretch it out a bit.
