Theres statistics out there saying Americans are getting stupider and are going to be left behind the rest of the world. What do you think has contributed to our stupidness?

Our "stupidness" has been a deliberate effort to dumb us down by some on the right, whose agenda includes being anti-science for religious reasons, anti-history for political reasons, and anti-math and its logical benefits to reduce our ability for critical thinking skills. The dumber we are the easier it is to manipulate us to their advantage and accomplish their agendas. They are hijacking this country for their personal views and the result is we are starting to lag far behind the rest of the world in our education. We are already seeing the consequences of having ignorant children and an uninformed population.

Yes, I do think you are going to fall like Rome. Just look at your President, for cryin' out loud!!! The main reason is that Americans (generally speaking) think they're better than everyone else, closing their minds to the rest of the world. Therefore you stagnate, and eventually will become (more) decadent.

Laziness, a culture the turns people into followers with no mind of their own.
Those that make an effort to better themselves are looked down on and criticized by those that just want to sit at home, watch Sex and the City and listen to Toby Keith.
The person above me is a perfect exampe of the follower mentality that is plaguing this country.

It sounds absurd, but it seems that the country is moving in a somewhat concerning direction. It seems that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer... racism, prejudice, animosity, mistrust, social classes all seem to be evident. Popular culture, media, mental health, materialism, justice system, education system, morals... where is this all going? I don't know fall like Rome, but something.

Ousting God from our hearts, our homes, our schools, our courts, and even our churches. Complacency in morals and ethics. Priorities out of order - example: PETA is very popular and "politically correct" in their efforts to save animals yet these same people will march with picket signs for a woman's right to murder her own child through abortion. Americans are very stupid indeed. There's no need to another country to attack us. We are destroying ourselves from the inside out. They just sit back and watch it happen.
