For moles, you get them checked when:
ABCD:
A = Asymetrical -- one side is uneven or different from the other
B = The border is uneven
C = The Color is strange
D = The diameter is bigger than a pencil eraser.

Basically, get them checked once a year by a skin doctor if you can. If you can't, then get them checked if they change or look different to you, and have a friend look over the ones on your back to make sure you don't have problems where you can't see them.
There are pictures online that you can look at that will tell you what to look for.
Stay out of the sun and use SPF lotion!

Moles are caused by dead pigment cells. This is caused by the sun (like a freckle).o if you are in the sun a lot then you'll have more but it depends on the person. ; )
