open any folder in your computer, click on the top where it says tools, scroll down to options. a window will open up, check the option that says Single-click to open an item (point to select)

Go to: Start, My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, Click items as Follows, tick: Single click to open an item, then click on OK.
Now when you place the mouse over any icon it will change to a hand and you just single click to open it.
