It is common in the business world for a person in their first decade to put in 70-80 hours a week and sometimes have a lot of travel...this is not harmonious with a marriage...you have your answer.
And people who start a business can expect to work 15 to 16 hours a day for the first five years at least.

I think it just depends on the situation. However having a family does change things. A single person is fine spending extra hours at the office because they don't have anyone to answer to. If you married your partner will expect to see you and if they don't thought of cheating might pop up. If kids are involve that's even more reason not to spend extra hours at work. Kids depend on their parents.
I think the success can go both ways for single and married people. However priorties can be different.

Not necessarily, but the furthering of one's career is usually easier if you are able to travel and relocate. To work longer hours and attend at short notice. this is usually easier when people are single, hence abbitious people generally choose to stay single until they have reached the point in their career where they would feel comfortable with being able to devote as much time to a relationship as is necessary.

I think it's because they work so hard in obtaining their status they don't want to settle down just yet. I agree with that 100%. IF I could turn back time, I would have waited to get my career going before looking for a mate. O' life is so much to learn.

Because marrying takes time and effort and they won't be able to accomplish as much when married. Studies have shown more intelligent people marry later.

Ambitious people often work 60-70 hours a week. Working such hours make it difficult to preserve relationships (as in marriage).

Because it's better to have your career established first as it can take some time. Thus the delay in marriage.

No, it's just that people with more ambition tend to focus on their careers more, so they focus less on dating.
