Seems that scheduling conflicts are tantamount to ruining Christmas to some people...usually parental.

I have come to hate the holidays. You can never please anyone, everyone complains about the amount of time you spend with the other spouses family, you're expected to buy gifts for every child in the family (related or not).

I would rather spend the holidays sitting at home than deal with the in-laws, cousins, uncles, aunts, siblings.... all of those people who get offended when you don't spend hours at their house for a party.

yes because it seems they only see some of their relatives during the holidays and they get touchy when they want you at their house and dont want to share you with other relatives.

It's because they forget the Real reason for the holiday in the first place.
