1. make a dot on your ear with permanant ink (a sharpie will do) where you want to pierce your ear
2. ice your earlobe down...so much so that you don't feel it - we're talking beyond it hurting because it is so cold.
3. take a sharp, thick needle and put it on the dot.
4. put something like a piece of cork or something firm like that on the back of your earlobe so that you have something to stick the needle into.
5. IN FRONT OF A MIRROR!
6. push the needle through the lobe into the cork.
7. remove it and put an earring in. preferably a gold stud so that you can (a) spin it every day and (b) put a lot of peroxide on it.
8. keep it in for a couple of weeks - spinning and applying peroxide.
enjoy!

It's best to use the type of earrings with a sharp point at the end. They are designed for ear piercing (in piercing guns), but can be found by themselves in beauty stores. Make sure you sterilize the earring and your ear (front and back of ear lobe) with rubbing alcohol before. You can numb ear with ice if you want, and marking the spot on your ear with marker is helpful to ensure the piercings will be even. I would avoid using needles then trying to stick an earring in. Needles are hard to get in and out, and once they are out the hole is too small and closes too quickly. (I've tried it and failed, so I recommend no needle use!). And avoid burning the needle! From experience I know that needles don't work well and I have little blue dots on my ear from where the burnt needle touched my iced ear. It's been there ever since!

Just get two pieces of ice and hold one in front of your lobe and one behind and rub them back and forth until you can't feel anything. Then use a fat needle (I used those huge needles you use on cloth diapers) that way the hole is big enough that you can slide your earings in easily. I would put in either REAL gold or Sterling silver earings so you don't get any irritation. Then just make sure you take care of your ears..clean..turn. And actually don't use hydrogen peroxide..they've found that that can prolong your healing ear pearcings.
FYI..Doesn't hurt a bit...if it did..I wouldn't have done it so many times...I'm a wimp!

Don't use a needle and ice, it hurts like crazyy.
Go to a beauty supply place and buy an actual ear piercing gun, like the ones they have at Claire's or The Icing.
