Yes I have. Several times.

A 4-seasons Adirondack treasure, a fun-filled vacation spot...Lake George is the place to go when you want to do it all.

Lake George, located in the foothills of the Adirondacks, is approximately 32 miles long and is nearly 3 miles wide. Much of the shoreline is unsettled, and through federal and state conservation efforts, will remain so. Small communities surround the lake, each lending its own unique style and way of life.

Of these, the village of Lake George offers the largest mix of attractions, restaurants, shops and nightlife. You can walk within a two-block radius and rent a boat, watch a war reenactment, relax on the beach, take a cruise, play miniature golf, parasail, hit the arcades, ride in a horse drawn carriage, have a cocktail overlooking the lake, or just relax on a bench and watch the world go by. The variety of sounds, images, and tastes are as varied as the people who flock to Lake George each year to enjoy a relaxed and fun-filled vacation.

There are numerous lodging options available within Lake George village, outside the village or in other nearby communities such as Diamond Point or the town of Bolton. Whether you like to pitch your tent under the stars, relax by the motel pool, or bunk with the kids in a rustic Adirondack cabin, you will find just the right place to call home during your stay.

Let me recommend late-spring thru early-fall.

Enjoy!

I live in lake George NY and its such a nice area. For tourists and locals alike, there is a lot to do and see. The history is amazing! For starters, you can check out the Fort William Henry Battleground and Museum, go hiking up Prospect Mt to get spectacular views of the lake. Take a boat ride on the Minnie Ha Ha and get a hands on tour of the beautiful lake. There are fire works every thurs nite in the summer and in the winter, you can ski at Gore Mountain or smaller West Mt which is nearby Lake George. For great dining, check out The Log Jam resturant for some great lobster, steaks, and prime rib!! My family and I go there a lot! Shop for great stuff at the Million Dollar Mile Outlet Center!! (Sunglass Hut, Polo, Gap, Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Van Husen, Timberland, Izod, Shoe stores, Reebok, Jockey, Yankee Candle). I like to go swimming in the lake a lot and there is so many beaches available to you. One of the most popular beaches is Million Dollar Beach right in Lake George. Another big attraction is the Six Flags Great Escape amusement park. There is a brand new hotel right across the stree from Great escape called Great Escape Lodge and Indoor waterpark. Its very popular and the newest most exciting business this year. Drive 5 miles south into the town of Queensbury and u can go shopping at a smaller mall, go mini golfing (a big attraction), go carts and go 2 miles south and u can shop at quaint sores in the downtown Glens Falls area. OVerall, lake george is a great place to visit. So much to do /see!! in the Summer, the best time to beat the tourists is early june, because in the middle of june is Americade the big motorcycle rally ( u wouldnt believe the traffic!!) and then the next biggest weekend is Memorial Day then 4th of July. July and Aug are def the busiest months! Good luck with ur trip.
