You see I just bought a 1 yr old female hedge hog, and I was wondering if they bite. Im thinking she might be a little stressed from the drive.. As she kinda hiss just a bit. Maybe a few seconds. but nothing to major. :( but i am so scared to move her out of the basket i took her home in. :( i dont know what to do!

they might bite, they also have spines that will hurt so use heavy leather gloves, shes pretty much a night creature so you wont see much of her in the day time.

As they get older,they grow a LARGE single tooth in their bottom jaw that's known to inflict a NASTY bite.

Usually,the ones that are tame and handled well,RARELY bite.
