If you work as a design engineer, you will be dealing with a lot of drawings in terms of creation and reading.
Structural drawings done by civil and architechtural people are of particular importance.
Unless you are good at geometry, especially perspective geometry and projective geometry, you will have a hard time creating as well as modifying and reading these kinds of drawings.

The most known is architecture. Architects actually have to construct shapes to do most of the designing. They rely heavily on geometry.
