What is a spiritual awakening?

A very simple question; but it has a very complex answer..

There is nothing which can be defined about a spiritual awakening..

In short, it can be defined as a successful communication with God himself..
you need to follow any particular religion for communicating with God; nor do u need to be bounded by false, earthly cults & practices & ideologies; what u need for a spiritual awakening is TOTAL ONENESS WITH GOD ; ONENESS WITH THE ETERNAL FORCE OF NATURE, which we call God.

spiritual awakening can be achieved in various ways ; the most common of which is MEDITATION.. Just thinking about God and what he really wants you to do <-- a realization of this is a awakening enough !!

you dont need to go by what the scriptures say; An inner realization of ur duties of what is right & what is not is an awakening in itself :)

for eg. u dont need scriptures to tell ya that killing (even in the name of God / religion / proselytizing was & is wrong) ; thus u have realized something which religious bigots/zealots have not understood inspite of their being well-versed in the scriptures; Thus u are one step closer to God than they are :)

A spiritual awakening needn't include God. Mother Nature will work just as well. A spiritual awakening is when you rejoin Mother Nature, your environment, the universe, the cosmos.

A spiritual awakening is when you realize no matter how much you know, you really know nothing at all compared to the One who made you. You are then willing to let go and let God lead and direct you and teach you what He wants you to know! Everything that He will teach you will be a complete truth, and you will know there is no way you would have learned this on your own. You will see life through His eyes. You will see others through His eyes of love and compassion! You will never look at another human being and see them the same way again. You will see how God sees them and how precious they are to our Lord! You will marvel at how awesome and wise our Father is and what a great and loving God we have! You will come to praise Him for the work of His hands and his tender mercies
each day. At the end of your life, you will look back in retrospect and think of how much you have learned. You will think about where you came from, and will be able to see how the Father molded you into one who is fit to come into His kingdom......just like a lump of clay that was formed into a lovely vessel on the potters wheel!

A spiritual awakening comes when you:
1) Realize that life is a joke
2) You stop trying to "get" the joke
3) You start laughing.

Yes they come in cycles for me - mostly when I ask for something - If you arent ready for them they can exhaust you. The next item it will be easier as you know what is happening and wont be scared that it is a madness Look up spiritual emergency their are helpers organisations that can stay with people or provide support and understanding - Yes much as you describe - I think of it as a chaos - meeting agony and ecstasy nature being something that you can fall into and lose yourself - (I don't take drugs)

To find a way back to God? To have God take all burdens off your shoulders.To have love for all. Total surrender of ones ego
and perception of self. The eliminations of all desires. greed and lust. The sensual things that bind us to this physical world, our bodies and minds.We are really in a prison of this physical plane.
