first of all, the "sleeve" is mainly for support... i think, that like the knee pad, it is used as a compressor so that joints may not experience too much stress... other players, like iverson, may only use it for the looks or it has become his habit... it's just a matter of personal preference or functionality

its meant to stop sweat almost like a piece of underarmor but they just wanna stand out and look "cool"

its a elbow or knee sock and i use them so i dont get floor burns when i dive for a loose ball. i try to get ones that dont stand out
