it makes complete sense. i have been a cutter in the past and do slip back into it when things are not going well. it's hard, but the best thing to do is have a support system. i know you're young and most people your age don't understand or want to understand many things such as this, but find someone strong you can talk to, maybe even seek professional counseling. i cut because i can control it and it does help relieve emotional pains.

yes this makes perfect sense. i am 15 and i cut. recently my teacher found out and she had me talk to her about it in private and it really helped. a lot of times there is so much crap going on INSIDE of us that we CANT control, we try to even it out by harming ourselves on the outside which we feel we DO control. we dont, however, because it soon becomes an addiction which is out of control and then we have a much bigger problem. Self Injury. I cut because I am so confused and messed up inside that the only outlet I felt was to harm myself. I am currently trying to rewire my mind to use writing and excercise instead. Running is great when you feel the urge. Also, keeping a journal where you write down all your feelings helps plenty. Hope I helped!

yeah, it makes sense. i'm not going to lecture you on how wrong it is or how stupid you are, because i did it myself. it wasn't right, because part of me did do it for the attention. but at the same time, it was a release of stress and pain, and in some sick way, i liked it.
a word of advice from my personal experience: if you don't want to cut, resort to other things to do when you're upset. i find always having a book to read, homework, some sort of hobby, will almost always help you forget things and think reasonably. nothing takes the pain away, but it does keep you from cutting, and its a safer, more constructive way to deal.

I used to cut in high school. I would cut my wrist. I did it when i would get depressed sometimes I think I was just feeling sorry for myself though. Once I got on antidepressants I didn't feel like cutting myself anymore and now I feel foolish that I did that. I don't know what your going through, but I hope you get through it safely and I wish you the best. Please talk to someone about this like a counselor. I know just talking to someone that won't judge seemed to help me and also I'm on paxil and I feel so much happier.

At 13 years old, you are just a baby. I am not sure why you are in such emotional/mental pain, but I will pray for you every day and ask for Jesus to give your sould and mind peace, so you dont have to cut yourself anymore. You can pray too, It doesnt have to be fancy or long. Just ask for Jesus to help you. He hears your every word and knows the thoughts in your mind. He is your friend when there is no other to help you.
I hope your mental pain goes away, and you find peace and happiness. I wish I could give it to you. Time heals all things and you will be ok. I just know it.

No, I understand. People cut themselves for different reasons. Some cut for a high, some cut because they feel numb, some cut because they feel too much (which it seems is what we both cut for), and sadly, some people DO cut themselves for attention.
Just remember you're not alone. Lots of people cut, and many of them aren't "emo."
