It is just something about the city. It is kinda the X factor that you can't really define. Maybe it is something in all that water. Mostly though there is PRIDE. A blue-collar city that cleaned itself up. Heck that fountain at the Point is a symbol of cleaning the soot off the city decades back. It was basically to rededicate the city. It's a shame they lost the Mayor like that as he wanted to clean up the city by cleaning up the neighborhoods and do it the right way. Make the people PROUD again and they will keep it clean on their own.

It's the tradition and the fellowship of the people. Pittsburgh has always had its problems, but when it comes to sports they pull together. When you grow up there, sports are in your life from the start and you can never get it out of your blood. No matter where you are in the world, if someones wearing a Pittsburgh jersey there is an instant bond. No matter what city they're in, Pittsburgh fans will always find that little dive bar that they will take over and make theirs.

Pittsburgh is a very traditional city. Living in Florida now, I miss those traditions. But what makes it a great city? It's the view from Mount Washington, gum bands, Permanti Brothers, going to the Point during the 4th of July, walking up the hills, the pot holes, the Black and Gold, shopping in the Strip, drinking in the South Side....I could go on and on.

I'm 16 and I have lived in 'better' cities like Raleigh, NC where all the PGH people flock to but I can say Pittsburgh is not that bad of a city it's easy to make friends here and there's always something to do. Overall it's a great city besides the financial problems lol.

Oh and the Penguins aren't going anywhere most likely Mario is just 'threatening' to leave.

Most of my family is from the Pittsburgh area with the exception of me(Buffalo). I still live in Buffalo but for me Pittsburgh is just home, It's where I feel most comfortable. I don't know how to explain it to people, but growning up it was summer nights on Mount Washington, ball games at Three River's stadium, driving up and down all the hills. Pittsburgh is a blue collar town with hard working people who are passionate about sports.

Perhaps it's all the uh... interesting-looking daughters of the steelworkers and coal miners... or maybe it's the yinzers with their mullets... no wait! It's the way nobody there knows how to accellerate on an on-ramp! Hmm... it could be their crumbling public education system. Or maybe the complete and total lack of a viable economy... There's so much to choose from!
