At my work, I have been told that they are bringing in a more experienced person in purchasing for me to report to. The company is in the middle of expansion, and I am supposed to get more training on planning, but have not received it yet, so that I can do planning and be an assistant to the Purchasing Manager. At first, I was supposed to do planning and purchasing, but now according to them, it has gotten over my head or will soon with the current expansion, and I can't do it all by myself. At my last job, the same thing happened. A more experienced person came in and basically took my job from underneath me. The only difference was that they were losing business and my company now is gaining business. So now I'm wondering, does anyone think there a great threat to my job in the current situation I'm in with a new person coming into Purchasing that will be my boss? Or, is there no reason for me to be worried even though I have been in a similar situation?

I would eb worried if i was tou, first of all you need to go to your boss and let them know you want to be trained up now with the expasnion coming on and all, and you are will to learn and put in extra hours if needed, make them see you can do more than they really see, and you will have to let them know this as a lot of them time they can get busy and jsut ofrget about little you, try putting in a bit extra where ever you can and seek out the training right away

Not if your company is exspanding. You will probably end up doing more work with more responsibility for the same pay.
Your purchasing mgr. will take all the credit for what goes right
and blame you for all that goes wrong.
