They are humans, have one big of an ego, their **** stink too, and they could care less about us. So why? Is it something spiritual? Need to worship something? Or is emptness of the mind and soul?

Good question, but it's not just Americans who worship celebrities. We have an unhealthy obsession like much of the rest of the world.

i think its cuz its hard 2 reach a goal without some kind of a picture of a goal. I mean, some people do idloize past gr8 docters or something, and their dream is 2 b 1 most of the time. Or bcuz they just like 2 listen 2 that particular singer or watch movies with that specific aactor. U cant blame them 4 that!

I have two theories:
1) A lot of people only have celebrities to look up to.
2)Celebrities are everywhere: t.v., music videos, stores, advertisements etc,etc,etc. When you have celebrities thrown in your face all of the time, it's kind of hard not to be exremely devoted to them.

It gives everyone something to talk about. If you run out of things to say to your friend you can just be like "Hey did you hear Brad and Jen broke up!?!?!"
but yea that's sad i dont do that.....

People have boring little lives and by following someone else's life it distracts them from how pathetic their lives are. :)
