I've had the same type of dream for as long as I can remember (now it's the only dream I have). I'm with either my father, mother, or sister (sometimes all three). I tell them something and they dismiss it. I scream, yell, and break things but they still brush me off. Eventually it reaches the point where I'm either trying to smash their face in with my fist or some object but nothing happens to them. This angers me even more.

I get angry to the point of waking up. I find myself trying to get back into the dream to "win" but never do. It leaves me mad the rest of my morning.

A recent variation of the dream had me running away from it but still it ends up the same way. My words are brushed off and I end up wanting to hurt them even after I wake up.

Is there anything I can do? I'm afraid of what it could mean later down the road or what I might end up doing and regretting.

Let me add some more information. By the afternoon I'm feeling fine and when I go to sleep I don't think about it.

And it's not a matter of not communicating with family how I feel. I've done it and it ends up the same way as in my dream (sans violence). After all, no one wants to believe they're the cause of someone's problems.

It sounds like your brain is trying to tell you that you want attention from others.

Talk to your parents about your day, you don't need to tell them drastic secrets, just be around them and with your friends, and whenever you have those dreams, come to your parents in the morning, hug them, and say "I love you." Do this in the morning and night, just to feel better.

Are you experiencing some aggravation in your life?
Coworkers giving you a hard time? Peer pressure?

Try to find what is annoying you while you are awake, and find a way to reduce it/get rid of it.

Then, before you sleep, though this may sound obvious, keep thinking of positive things, like sunny beaches and such.

If those don't work, see what you eat before you go to sleep. Some foods just so happen to create some reactions while sleeping. I suggest drinking a glass of milk before you go to sleep, or some nuts. They might help.

However, if the problem gets extremely serious, I heavily suggest that you talk this over with a friend or professional.

You need to talk this out in person with someone. This is aggression, and a bad case of it. Your mind won't let you rest, in the rem state and it's dangerous to say you carry your anger and control issues into reality. Remember, do not think if your dreams go into reality it is anyone fault but you own. Seek professional help on this one, not here. You are the key to your anger, get it answered.

There were lots of times when I dreamed of my family members each wanting to kill me. My father hunted me... then my mom... then my sister... I even dreamed my dad bar-b-q'ing me. geez. I also had the same anger dream like your but to my sister only. I screamed and screamed so loud at her to cross out my point but she wouldn't listen. I even felt my throat hurt half awake... it was that terrible. When I woke up, yeh, I really hated her...until the next day. It almost ruined our relationship. But it's just a dream, caused by some sort of stress. Just contain yourself. You'll just ruin your day for some nonesense dream. ;)

well now you know what your dream is, now you have to keep looking for the signs, i used to have bad dreams and nightmares, my grandmother had the perfect remedy, but try it once before you close your mind to it, take a small scissors and wrap it with a napkin so you don't poke yourself with it and keep it under your pillow, this will protect you also against nightmare, once you do this, you will notice you are having better sleep. Trust me, it works,

Yes, the aggression is good. Use your anger and confront those who mistreat you. Make them pay! Lash out with all your hatred. Then all your dreams will be sweet.
