Yes I know what "gay" means, but I still like to tease him :):) don't worry I won't make him do anything against his will though. I'm not that bad :):) he is just so cute and quiet I wonder what makes him tick!

I had to flip this one around.
If a woman I liked said that she was lesbian, my response would depend on our comfort level. Is she a friend who I was crushin' on? Is she just someone I admired from afar?
I'd like to think we could still be friends, based on the qualities that made me decide to hit on her in the first place. Maybe we could go to the mall and check out babes or something. Insider information on how you ladies think wouldn't be a bad thing.

If a guy tells a girl that he is Gay she might as well take his word on it because I can't think of a good motivation for saying that.
Unless confusion and ambivalence about sexual preference is now TRENDY in which case the second sentence of your post would be appropriate.
