Both the iPod and iPod nano can hold music and photos. Additionally, the full-size iPod can play videos. The iPod shuffle doesn't have a screen, so of course it can't do photos or videos. Other than that, it's up to you, how much stuff you would want to put on your iPod, and your budget.

As the other said, depends ur budget.
In current market, ipod video and ipod nano r the only choices for u. If u still able to get 4th generation ipod, u may go for it as well. But personally, of cos go for the latest.
Nano seems a bit small for someone (me especially), even the capacity also small. While for the Ipod video, it has larger body as well as larger capacity. Actually, if we want, we might use the ipod video as an external hard drive, especially the 80 gb ipod video.
If u tend to use it for listening songs n viewing photos, u might chose either ipod nano, or ipod 30gb. Oh ya, ipod nano still have varity of choices interms of colors and capacity.
If buying a nano 8gb, i rather chose 30gb ipod video, since the prices are similar (In Australia). Well, for me, i am happy with my 80gb video.
