Yeah, God, I guess, inspired people to write the Bible, the most commonly printed book on Earth. But if you say that, you could say Chairman Mao, because he inspired the little red book, Aka, "Quotations from Chairman Mao," because that's the second most commonly printed book.
My best author is Leo Tolstoy. He wrote War and Peace, which is actually considered the best novel in the world.

Are you really expecting a single answer because if you are that's not gonna happen. It's gonna vary by person. Good luck.
I don't know if I have an opinion on the best author. Different authors are good for different reasons.

I think that different people will have different opinions about who the best author is. For me, I really enjoy reading memoirs and autobiographies, so the best authors' works which I'm read are those by Frank McCourt, Paul Monette and believe it or not, former NJ governor James McGreevey. I love Frank McCourt "voice of a child" writing style; Paul Monette seduces me with his elaborate and hard-pounding vocabulary and imagery; and Jim McGreevey's narrative is just so sincere and humane, like youknow he's writing from the depths of his heart and soul.

There is no real answer to who is the best author... They are all pretty good. My favorite, however, is Jane Austen. I love her books and think that her work has really stood the test of time. I can relate to her books today just as well as people in the 1800s could. It's really amazing that she could do that!

Did you mean: "Who do you think is the best author?" This question makes me cry.

There are no "best authors". Each is good in his own way.

The first best writer would be GOD. The God who inspired the men to write the bible. It is such a great book that it has lasted for AGES, it is the one book that has been taken in so much consideration. The one book everyone in this world knows.

That really depends on what kind of mood you're in. If you want something a bit off the wall and weird/hilarious try Augusten Burroughs or David Sedaris, but if you're more in a nature-esque/thriller type mood, go for Randy Wayne White. *shrugs* It all depends on how you feel!
