Christmas is totally optional for a Christian. It's celebration is not commanded anywhere in scripture, but it can be a useful time of preparation and spiritual introspection. That is, provided it doesn't become the secular "what did I get-fest" and you can maintain proper focus, but no you aren't a bad guy for not celebrating Christmas.

You are right. Many scholars believe Jesus was born in March or April. However, the tradition is the "idea" of His birth for Christmas. I am a born again believer who loves Jesus with all my heart and I don't get into all that material Christmas stuff. All that "stuff" crowds Jesus out of the REAL reason. You're not a bad person. Jesus loves you!

No it doesn't make you a bad person. Many of us know that Dec 25th is actually the birth date of the pagan god Tammuz. If we let satan have his way he would ruin every day of the year by applying some pagan connotation to it so that we couldn't celebrate Jesus birthday at all. Instead, we have taken something back from satan that he tried to use for his purposes, and we are using it to the glory of God. Even in places where it's not normally permissible to talk about God, or lawfull to hang His 10 commandments, or openly profess our belief in Him, we still have the freedom to celebrate the birth of His only begotten Son who came to earth to die for our sins so we all have the opportunity to accept His gifts of forgiveness and eternal life. Let's not lose sight of our objective here. For those of us who know and believe in Jesus, our mission in life isn't to single handedly do battle with satan, but to share the wonderful news of God's awesome love for everyone of His children on planet earth.
Christmas, in spite of where it came from, is a very useful tool in that endeavor. A blessed Christmas to you all!
