Do u still think that if you hadn't done this or if you'd done that, you would still be married?

I think about my past marriage and wonder what things would have been like if i'd done things differently. However, I also compare my new marriage to the only and have realized i'm much better off and happier than i could ever have been with my ex.

If i hadn't been so against my ex's drinking problem, and stayed with her and accepted she was a hopeless alcoholic, we'd still be married to this day.

I wish I'd been stronger to stand up to him.
He had a supervised visit with the baby yesterday, the 1st time he'd seen her in 10 months.
He couldn't even get her an Xmas present.
But since I left him cos he was violent and mentally abusive, I have made so many changes.

I got counselling

I was rehoused in the most perfect house-Which is the first place I have been able to stay in since I was 12.

I declared bankruptcy, as I had my debts cos of him.

I saved up and went on holiday with my children.

I booked driving lessons- as he repeatidly told me I was useless and that I could only drive an automatic car- I passed my test last week on the 1st attempt with only 5 minors [faults] with manual gears.

And my divorce comes through this week.

My daughters have started Karate classes

And next year I will be studying with the Open University

Meanwhile I take great comfort in knowing that he will be sat in his room at his mums house, with her nagging him-He'll have a spliff in one hand [he has canabis psycosis] and a can of Stella in the other.

I'd shake his hand if I saw him again.cos I'm now so tough and I believe in myself so much now.
I couldn't even go to my kids school when I was with him cos I was so downtrodden and tired.
