I like Maria and Marie because they are both tried and true. Marina and Marine might be names that kids will make fun of when your daughter starts school with references to aquariums and dolphins. Think also of combining either name with another name or giving a longer version. Example: Annamaria, Annamarie, Margarite, Mariah, Margot, Margo, Margaret, or Marjorie. Whatever name you choose, think of that name in various careers. Could you picture your doctor, lawyer, teacher, Governor, etc. with the name you finally choose? Good Luck and congrats.

1. Maria is nice, but very common
2. Marina? You have got to be joking!
3. Marie is pretty, but also common. (I prefer the French pronunciation over the English)
4. Marine? Sounds like a military branch.

I love the names Maria and Marie.
Since you seem to like the "Mari" type names, what do you think about the name Mariabella?
My name is Mary and one day I was talking to my boyfriend at the time about children. Baby names came up and he suggested Mariabella...be cause it means "my beautiful mary"
it was soo sweet...loved the name ever since. But I can't really name a little girl that now since we're not together...
