No it's not fair. She wants you to be something or someone that you can't/don't want to be. Like someone already said, follow your dreams and make sure you have a back up plan. Also, try thoroughly researching your chosen career and show your mom. She might be impressed with your efforts and determination. She might even gain a little more respect for your wishes. You cant be a professional roller skater until you are 18 anyway. By then you will be an adult and can do what you want. So keep practicing and work on speed until then.

Check for local roller derbys in your area. It is a fun sport and if you can get in on a team, you'll have your foot in the door to a fun career. Good luck. :)
