Speech & song with dicton. When did it go out of style? I forgot what it was to know what a singer was saying

Check it out. The old Christmas songs are on TV and you know what the singer or group are saying. Even todays ads are making fun of the fact it has become so stylish to grunt or slop out our words. What is your opinion? Do you even know what diction is? Are you able to speak with clarity? Is it a lost art?

I agree also I find it annoying when people can't speak clearly and don't even get me started on the internet speak which I find makes people look like idiots.
