Is there a way to save this cord or can you buy replacements? How do I prevent this from happening again?

These cords are cheap to start with. there not meant to be pulled out of the wall socket by jerking them. I keep telling my wife this. a quick jerk, is her way. Before you know it, I'm fixing cords.
If it's bent bad, use a hair dryer to un-bend the plastic, see if that works.

Always wind from the vacuum end, it might take awhile. If new start that way.
