So I installed the WOW cds and it downloaded the patches but after I restarted it, instead of the login screen, the whole thing was black with a few red squares. The music was playing but the graphics weren't there. I had the free trial a few weeks ago and the game worked fine for a few days but then after the patch download it did the red square thing. So i'm pretty sure my computer has the capabilities of playing the program i'm just not sure what the problem is. Any help?

Reinstall Directx 9.0c here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en (assuming you have a valid copy of Windows) and your reinstall your video card drivers. Which drivers you need depends on which video card you have. To find out, go to Start>Run> type "dxdiag" and click no to the message that may pop up. A window will pop up, click the Display tab at the top. Look where it says "Name". That's your video card. You can tell me and I'll find them or you can Google it yourself by typing the name and putting drivers after it. Find the link and download it. If you have any issue's with that tell me the model name of your PC if it isn't custom built (i.e. Dell Inspiron 5100) I can almost guarantee this will fix your problem.

Are you sure your graphics card is WoW compatible? That would be the first problem I would check. And make sure you have upgraded your DirectX and all your drivers. It really should work if all those are compatible:

My guess is that assuming you did everything else correctly it is some sort of video/graphics issue.

you could pass on your previous workstation and replica the archives from the disc onto a USB flash force. Then take the flash force and plug it into your new workstation and do the set up from there, while it provides for the disc basically mount the iso with Daemon equipment. i'm undecided if the whole interest can extra wholesome right into a flash force however. Or do what the different adult adult males say, that looks lots much less complicated.
