Yeah, I posted a question earlier today about having something in my eye. I came to the conclusion that it has to be a stye because I had all the symtoms of one. I need help on some home treatments and remedies. Thank you.

I read your previous question and it doesn't sound like a stye to me. A stye is an infection of an eyelash follicle and usually results in a small red bump - not the whole eyelid going red.

If it is a stye (and time will tell), make a compress of fresh, grated carrot. Wrap in clean cheesecloth or muslin and place over the eyelid. This will bring the infection to a head so it can start healing.

Alternatively, moisten a chamomile teabag to use as a compress. Works best when warm. This will relieve the swelling.

Aloe vera gel applied to the eyelid will speed healing.

Internally, take Echinacea Root extract, 30 drops every 4 hours to boost the immune system. Also Goldenseal Root, 1 capsule 3x daily for 10 days, as a natural antibiotic.

Users of contact lenses are much more likely to develop these infections.

BTW, the old quarter trick only worked back when quarters were pure silver - it's a natural antibiotic.

If it's a stye, standard treatment is warm moist compresses four or more times a day. It's an infection, so wash your hands anytime they get around your face, and the cloths you use for the compresses need to be handled with care to prevent spreading the germ all over the house.

Run a washcloth under hot water; wring it out & place over your eye. This will cause it to come to a head & pop; allowing the gunk to drain out.
Then place a cold washcloth on your eye to relieve the inflammation/pain.
