I injured one of the tendons behind my knee while playing soccer. I lost balance and landed with all my weight on my leg. I made the mistake of leaving it alone for about a week, going to work and not resting it very well but after that I began bandaging it and taking Advil. It has been an other week (2 after the injury). It hurts a lot less and I can move it almost normally. It is only in some positions that I still feel real pain. I do feel stiff and a slight discomfort (as on a minor tendinitis). What should I do now? Should I keep bandaging and resting it? Should I exercise it? How long until I can go back to play soccer? Thanks for your help

so form of active treatment should begin. Stretch, but within a painfree range of motion. Use heat before and after to increase blood supply to the area and encourage soft-tissue elasticity.
I would stretch for the next week, then maybe attempt some small moves around the house. Planting on injured leg and pivoting, etc. If pain is elicited, then it will definitely be there when under game or practice pressures.
If pain persists for a few weeks of this protocol, then seek out medical attention.
sprain, strains(tendons, ligament, muscles) should typically heal in 6-8wks, and should be painfree before this time is up.
