Yes but it is not their fault. I am not sure who you classify as young people but since 1984 anyone under 16 has not been able to hold a job except under special circumstance. The minimum wage/skill jobs that were, at one time, the learning ground for youth has been taken over by illegal aliens. If you don't teach your dog to behave then don't blame it for crapping on your floor and chewing your slippers.

I think some younger people are a bit lazy when it comes to work but there are those kind of people from every generation, it just seems like the younger ones alone are lazy because they are now starting out to work and for the most part some parents don't guide their kids well when it comes to work ethics. As they adjust to work they will get better but it is best if employers don't encourage the behaviour.

Lazy and rude people exist on all age levels. Honestly speaking, though, in my everyday experiences dealing with customer service representatives and service oriented positions, I've found the most lazy people to be middle-aged obese women who are divorced and have medium length hair. But to say that all people who fit into this category have the same problem would be quite absurd indeed!
Perhaps young people are better classified as "inexperienced." Young people (most of them, at least) learn by trial and error, and older people should be a more patient with their lack of worldly knowledge and respect, as these qualities only come with age and time.
As for the economy, we have our elected officials to blame for our current economic fiasco. The politicians have collaborated with big business manufacturers in an attempt to under-mind labor in the United States. Unfortunately, we are now a "service-driven" economy - - an economy that pays minimum wages. And with these low wages, we find that young people are more willing to work for less money than their adult counterparts.

What will kill the economy, youngsters giving things away for free, or people reporting them? Perhaps if you'd work a little harder, you wouldn't notice such things.

Are younger people lazy and rude at work? Yes and no, it depends on the person.
Will this kill the economy? Hell no

Let me preface by saying there are tons of young people who really apply themselves to their jobs and do good quality work with a good attitude.
However, in general I would have to agree that younger folks are increasingly lazy and lack integrity in the workplace.

I think young people are becoming more and more lazy. Most of them have NO IDEA what work really is. They expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter.

you are generalising, soem young people work hard and have a good attitude too! It's just that they are probably from this new generation whereby they believe in playing hard too. They may seen boisterious and too fun-loving at times, but it doesn't mean that they are not solving that work-related problem their head.
