I'm trying to rejuvinate some drawer knobs on an old drafting table. I've been using steel wool to polish up the brass, but it's not working as much as I'd hoped. Is there any kind of liquid I can soak the knobs in to get them sparkling again?

Go to Ace Hardware & buy a can of Brasso. It will make them look like new.

One part jewelers rouge and one part mineral spirits. Rouge comes in a stick form and you need to shave it off until you have a good size amount r all of it. Mix in the mineral spirits until you have a paste. Rub the knobs with the mix on a cloth or paper towel for a minuet then run off and buff with a cloth towel. Or you can just buy MOTHERS polish and skip all of the mixing. The other works better but the stuff you can buy already mixed works just as well with more rubbing.

At the grocery store or at a hardware store--Buy a can of "BRASSO" It's a common cleaner. It's used by Cops and Military people to keep their stuff looking sharp. It also leaves a protective coating on the brass keeping it from tarnishing longer.
