convince the authorities that they were Cuban boat people. Has anyone else ever seen this film?

Brilliant film. It starred Alan Arkin and was made into a series that w2as canceled after a few episodes.

Yes I have; I remember it. Alan Arkin was trying to get the sons to convince folks that they were Cuban boat people who needed help. It didn't work but I can understand why he would do it. I seen the series first then years later, I saw the movie. very interesting piece.

OMG!!! i thought i was the only person that ever seen this movie at least in my age group. great film wish they would give it at least one time around in the cable line up very sad tho for me anyway... i always cried when i watched it because the boys couldnt understand why his father did what he did to save them that was the ultimate sacrifice of love it was kinda f'd up how he did it but sometimes u gotta do what u gotta do especially when the odds are always against u in a desperate situation

Yes, I did see at least part of it sometime around 10 years ago. It was a fascinating film.

Yes, it starred Alan Arkin. They were a puerto rican family.
