I've been in severe depression for 3 mos., and, duh, have been crying my lil' heart out. A hardcore tear fest gave me welts under my eyes and made my lids burn like crazy. The best you can do is give yourself a time limit to cry (a good friend should help with this), then get up and at least TRY to do something else. Too many tears can be more than emotionally painful-it can be physically draining, too.

No, crying does not hurt your eyes. Mostly depending on your age- young teen- preteen i'm guessing- it is common for youngsters eye to change alto as they are growing. Hopefully you are not the ones that has what they call progressive myopia- which can be confirmed by your eye care professional.

Generally no, however, if you wear contacts (I did for 18 years), crying can cloud them up until you clean them.
