Of course there has to be some kind of life on other planets. The Universe is so big, that it is hard to imagine there is not. What are your opinions? Is it possible that there is a another planet (s) where there are humans exactly like us, wondering the exact same things? Do you think that "Aliens" will ever come to earth? Will we ever find life on other planets? ..... what are your thoughts?

Also, if life was ever found how do you think that people would react? I do not mean microscopic organisms, I mean actual "Aliens" , Civilizations (ignore spelling mistakes ;-) )

I would say our chances are pretty good. If you think we are alone in this universe, or are the guardians of this universe, you are rudely mistaken. Here's something to think about... Fill a standard 5 gallon bucket to the top with fine playground sand. Each grain of sand in that bucket would represent one orbiting celestial phenomenon within our solar system. You would have to fill 100,000 buckets full of sand, and count each grain as a solar system to account for the number of solar systems we have in our galaxy alone. To put our known universe in perspective, you would have to fill 100 trillion buckets to the top with granule-sized GALAXIES to account for the estimated number of galaxies we have in our known universe. And as technology gets better, the exponential growth of our known universe only becomes more exponential. Check out the latest pic's taken from the Hubble Space Telescope. It is sure that there is intelligent life on other planets. Look for Drake's formula to compute the probability of life in the universe.
The problems are that it is impossible to travel faster than light and the probability of matter evolving into intelligent life on a given planet is very low. So there are aliens out there but it is probable that we'll never be able to meet them. The best we can hope is to catch some radio signal that will prove that there is intelligent life somewhere. That's what the Seti project is all about and you can put your computer at work to help them by downloading a free software that works while your computer is in screen saving mode. This software analyse data from the Arecibo (Puerto-Rico) radiotelescope and search for data that cannot be explained by astronomical phenomenas and will prove the existence of intelligent life. Like aliens who would catch the TV and radio signals coming from earth.

Yes I believe that there is life on other planets. I also believe that if there is intelligent life forms they are highly different then us humans or any other animal on this planet. I hope to live to see the day that happens it would change everything that us humans hold dear. It would prove that evolution does happen and it happens elsewhere in the universe. Also us humans who hold religion dear to question all their beliefs. Since a lot of holy books don't mention aliens or non-human life forms in the cosmos. It would change everything. Maybe in the future this will become a reality.

It seems likely to me that life exists in places other than this Earth. But I don't think it will be exactly like us. Similar maybe, but the differences would no doubt be quite large, so that you would easily recognize that an alien was different than one of us without having to be told.

Any contact with an alien civilization, even if by only by radio signals, would be the biggest news in human history, much bigger than any war, or the Apollo Moon landings or the world cup or whatever.

I think it is almost certain that we will find microbial life on Mars with my lifetime (age 52) and on Europa.

On the subject of sentient life ...

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

From a logical point of view... there must be other planets out there with life on them.

If we were the only one in such a vast universe... there would be reason to start believing that God put us here.

However... we will never be able to travel that far... even if we could travel at the speed of light. And one has to assume that whoever is out there would not be able to travel here either... for the same reason.

In a way... it is a good thing... because we just would want to kill each other anyway.

i've got talked to my chum approximately this and if I remember properly he says the bible would not point out something approximately existence on different planets how ever if there is obviously god created them so it won't be ready to in any way pass against the christian faith till you believe god did no longer create them. I on the different hand don't think in god and think of this is naive to think of have been the only planet with existence on it. There must be some sort of existence obtainable wether they have alien craft or they are basically small creatures like a canines I have no clue yet there must be some sort of existence obtainable. I remember some years in the past reading some planet i think of close to a famous individual interior the large dipper that grew to become into supposedly around a similar length as our planet and with regard to a similar distance away and the famous individual grew to become into with regard to a similar length as our sunlight that they had reported they observed something blue on the planets similiar to earths water and there recognized to be land hundreds like our continents however the telescopes could no longer provide lots extra element how ever I havn't heard something approximately that considering that. My theory is they stumbled on data of existence there and are protecting that awareness far flung from us like roswell by no skill befell.

I have thought the same thing, they always show aliens as little green men with big eyes, i've always wondered what if they look just like us... I definitely think there is life on other planets.

I have to say there has to be life out there sense we the inter universe comes from the same spot, and all elements are built the same way, The logical conclusion is that there has to be life out there rather or not it's intelligent depends on a ton of factors, but if there was life out there it probable dose not look like us or even think like us, the common misconception out there is that intelligent life will look like we do when in turn they might look like a spider or a dog for that matter, so yes but not the way most people think life out there is going to be.

Yes, there has got to be other planets with life on them. And intelligent life has got to be on many of these planets. They will not be humans exactly like us. The evolution on their planets will be totally different than our own. The intelligent life could either be below our level of development, at our level of development, or beyond our level of development. I really do not know if we will ever be able to detect life on other planets without going to them, which is basically impossible.
