We lost a terrific musician and humanitarian when Mark Chapman killed John Lennon for no apparent reason...the man is obviously insane and has been denied release from a mental institution, NOT a jail, on numerous times....although he committed the worst of crimes by killing an innocent person, killing him would not bring John back....he'll never be released from the mental hospital that he resides in anyway....

What makes John Lennon's murder any more despicable than those who are NOT famous that get shot every day? Just because John Lennon was famous, that doesn't make the way he died any more disgusting and inhumane than those who aren't famous that get shot and killed! KIDS are killed by stray bullets as well as innocent, hard-working people getting robbed, shot and killed - their life snuffed out because of greed and other pathetic reasons! Sure, the way John Lennon died was wrong and disgusting, but no more despicable than the way other people die due to violence, greed, etc. Those who don't have a famous name and are murdered are just another statistic because they are not well-known in the world.

Absolutely. I often wonder what the world would be like today if he was still alive. Also, I'm sure he would be very vocal about George W. and our situation in Iraq.
