I like rap way better than rock. If you like Rock music better tell me why its better than Rap.?

Well, I like hip hop, real hip hop. Old skool. Tribe and De La to name two. That's the kind of rap I like. Good beats, great samples and tasty rhymes. Other then that, i can't stand what rap and hip hop has become. All about the bling and sex. What happened to the real hip hop?

Rock music is made with real instruments. Rap is created with a computer. All of those beats and instruments are computer generated. A lot of rock music is written by the actuall artist and not the producer. Rock has more emotion and meaning and does not just talk about money and sex unlike rap. Rap music talks about the same things, all the videos are the same. Rap music has no heart in it, it is mass produced in order for these people to make a quick buck. Rock music isnt about that. Rock is about standing up for what you believe in and seeking therapy through music and sound waves. People who write rock music know a lot more musically than a rapper who just says a few words about sex and money into a microphone.

It depends on what kinds of rock and rap you're talking about. In turn, that also depends on who the rapper is or what rock band you're talking about.

Personally speaking, I use to be really into rap when I was young. But that was when rap wasn't about "bitches and ho's", it was more about growing up a poor kid and making yourself someone while having some sort of positive and/or meanigful message. It wasn't about getting drunk at clubs or other stereotypical rap songs. And after a while, all beat's begin to sound the same. They're just recycled and altered ever so slightly on the computer.

I love rock music--the entire gamut of it. Rock I believe tends to be more emotional and personal. Anyone can argue this as you can easily point out that there are some rock bands that really just write songs and play music that have no overall meaning behind it. And again, some music starts to sound the same after a while because bands tries to emulate the current trend.

The question you asked will always get a subjective answer because everyone likes one kind of music more than another for various reasons. I love rock but I also love some rap. It all depends on you. Like if you were to ask if I prefer 50 cent over (almost) any rock band, I'd vehemently answer no. But if you were to ask me if I like Simple Plan more than DMX, I'd give you another vehement NO. To find good music, regardless of genre, all one has to do is to weed out the "here for today's money, gone tomorrow" artists to find bands or rappers that sing or play for more than just the money but for the music's message.

I can't tell you why rock is better than rap,because it's my opionion. I like rock music better than rap,but a lot of people like rap better than rock,so basically it's impossible to tell you why rock is better than rap,because it's nothing more than a personal opinion

everyone thinks its weird that im mostly black and my least favorite kind of music is urban music ( r&b/hip hop/ rap)
i do like rock much more in my own personal opinion, but both have their ups and downs...ive heard ppl say that rap only talks about drugs sex alcohol and women (which is true for the majority) but rock has its bad points as well. i i just prefer rock because i like the beats and tunes a lot better...theres nothing better than electric guitar to get your blood pumping! i hate that rap uses a lot of ghetto slang ....its hard to explain. i just like what i like.

I'm a die hard fan of pure rock n' roll (none of that cheesy crap). I relate more with the lyrics and love to hear guitar solos!! Don't get me wrong i like rap - well the older stuff because everything today all sounds the same and all they talk about is pointless stuff (most of them). I respect all music though - it takes huge balls to get out there and do you're thing.

i really like both and i dont think rap is crap if it was then they would not be making much money...like all those 1 hit wonders u never hear about that is CRAP...Money Sex drugs Murder sells and thats the fact..
