I wanted a bike sooo badly when I was about 10! Every other kid that I knew had one. My Mom kept saying no, because I'd get myself killed on it.
That Christmas morning, there was a bike under the tree. It was used, you could still see a bit of rust on the chain and on the metal pedals. But my big brother had spray painted it bright red. It was the most gorgeous bike I ever saw. I even named it. Painted the name on the chain guard.
My Mom had paid $5 for it. That was a lot in those days, considering that she didn't have very much.
We live in the frozen northern part of the US. I had to wait till spring to ride that bike. but at least, I knew it was in the basement waiting for me.

One year my brothers and I all got Cabbage Patch Kids from Santa. One got a "studious" boy, annother got an astronaut boy. I got a girl named Maggie, she was a "World Traveler" from Holland. We all played with those things for years. When we were a bit older, it was the Super Nintendo that we found two weeks prior to the big day. Mom and Dad were furious. I actually thought they would return it... they didn't.

My schnauzer Jock was the best gift.
My Uncle gave him to me for Christmas when I was in the 4th grade.

but the best present as a kid was a bike in first grade from my parents. i had mad adventures on that thing.

one christmas,we didnt get anything. but it was the best christmas ever because the whole family was together. my family decided instead of buying presents, to have a family reunion. it was great.

My playhouse.I played in it for years and then it became my club house.My Dad made it and it had windows,wallpaper,pictures on the wall,a little table and chairs set.It was great.
