About transportation, I think the cheapest option is the bus; there´s a company which operates all around Andalucía called "Alsina", which most of us use to travel to and from other Andalusian provinces because they are eficient, punctual and cheaper than trains; here you have the link and I have choosen the English version for you (choose the bus which says "directo", which means there are no stops. The other option is "por Castro", means that there will be a stop there and will take it longer:

About vacation in Granada:
In Granada the "must" is the Alhambra, of course; there are long lines of people every morning trying to get tickets to enter the palaces; but you can buy the tickets in advance either on the Internet (http://www.granadahomestay.com/visitinga... or once you are in Spain, go to any BBVA bank and they sell the tickets there. I have bought them in the BBVA bank whenever I´ve been to the Alhambra. Maybe there are no tickets for the day you go to the bank, but there aren´t usually problems for the next day. The ticket includes the gardens of Generalife, which are just beautiful.
The Cathedral is really beautiful too; it was built by Diego de Siloé. Here you have the site:

Very near the Cathedral, it´s the Royal Chapel; it´s another must!! The Catholic King and Queen (Isabel and Ferdinand) are buried there, as well as their daughter Juana and her husband Felipe, who were king and queen too. The site:

Go up to the ski resort in Sierra Nevada. You can ski or just walk around and enjoy its beautiful views. There´s a road which is the highest in Europe going up to Veleta peak, although you have to go by cablecar or walking (which maybe not possible in that time of the year because of the snow) because the road is now forbidden for cars and buses for ecological reasons.
Take a bus to Las Alpujarras, which is the general name given to a number of small pintoresque villages near Granada:

Take a bath in one of the Arab baths:

Visit the old moorish quarter in Granada, the Albayzin; narrow streets with wonderful views of the Alhambra from St. Nicholas square:

Go to the park called Garcia Lorca, like the poet; it´s really nice for a relaxing walk or just to sit and have some rest.
And go into the bars and get free snacks with your drink; yes, they are called "tapas" and there´s an incredible variety of them, both cold and hot.
You have more information in this site:

I have been to Córdoba only once, but I loved it; the "Mezquita" (Mosque) was beautiful as well as all the old part of the city. This is a useful site:

Hope you´ll enjoy your visit!!

Merry Christmas!

I drove from Granada to Cordoba, great road. You can rent a car or go by train or bus. Both cities are marvellous. Do not miss the Alhambra palace in Granada and make sure you reserve your place (limited number of visitors per day and huge queues).
Also visit the old bridge and the Tower Museum in Cordoba, facing the mosque.

If you wear tennis shoes they know that you are tourists, it really funny that very rare that Spainairds wear tennis shoes. Also when you are at a restraunte if you order your meal at the bar vs at a table it is cheaper. Dont worry so much about the gypsys, they are not as bad as people say.
