He was real close with Paul heyman, and at the time the WWE was trying to sign Bob sapp to wrestle for ECW. WWE and Sapp could not agree on a contract, so they put Lashley on ECW. It was actually Lashley's idea to make the switch

because lashley did not like the smackdown writers and requested to move to ecw where he was friends with the people that ran it. that is why he got the title so fast.

because he worked with Paul Heyman in OVW and he was having trouble with the Smackdown booker and he wanted to be another Batista and Heyman wanted to do that too so they begged Vince to move Lashley to ECW and after two weeks of that they moved him to ECW as the new option for the title because they couldn't give it to RVD and Sabu due to drug busts and Test because he wasn't a good option and not CM Punk because he is new to WWE and not Hardcore Holly because c'mon who takes him serious

So that he could actually be a main eventer on a brand, not just a mid carder. Paul Heyman promised him that he could become a main eventer on ECW, and that is why he left. WWE has gotten so many new superstars these days, that they left Lashley as a mid carder on SmackDown!, even though he has accomplished big on the brand.

Because He was getting his a** kicked on smackdown. so he went to ecw where he was bigger than every one else.

HE WANTED TO BE IN THE MAIN EVENT AND HE COULD NOT GET THAT SINCE AS THEY ALREADY HAVE BATISTA IN THE MAIN EVENT SO HE LEFT.HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CRATIVE TEAM.
